Norinco sks date of manufacture4/8/2023 Not quite a collectible, but definitely a desirable. First gen Sino-Soviet Chicom SKS, all matching. The stock is not cracked, but heavily gouged. Got it from Classic Arms, cheap (for these days) because I wanted a rifle to Bubba, and got a discount for a "cracked stock" item. This means that the rifle may be a Sino-Soviet, manufactured in China under Russian management, within the first few months of the start of manufacture in 1956. So the serial number is not standard chinese issue, it is Russian, but it has a chinese factory mark. The markings are rather baffling, with the serial number being one alpha with four numeric, followed by a factory 26 mark. Milled receiver, not stamped as in newer Chicom SKS's. Receiver, bolt carrier, bolt, trigger assembly, buttplate, magazine, and unbelievably, the stock also matches. The serial numbers that I found are all matching. Still trying to figure out exactly what it is in terms of origin. I received a rather interesting Type-56 SKS in the mail a couple of days ago.
